The verified calendar
June 4, 2026: the 2027 ERAS season began at 9 a.m. ET (source 2).
September 2, 2026, 9 a.m. ET: applicants can begin submitting MyERAS applications to residency programs (sources 2 and 3).
September 15, 2026, 12 p.m. ET: NRMP registration opens for the 2027 Main Match (source 1).
September 23, 2026, 9 a.m. ET: programs may begin reviewing MyERAS applications and MSPEs (sources 2 and 3).
October 2026 through January 2027: interview season. No master calendar governs it; each program sets its own dates.
January 29, 2027: NRMP standard registration deadline (source 1).
March 3, 2027, 9 p.m. ET: rank order list certification deadline (source 1).
March 15 through 19, 2027: Match Week, with SOAP for unmatched applicants (source 1).
March 19, 2027: Match Day (source 1).
The dates people get wrong
September 2 is not a race. Programs cannot open a single application until September 23, so day-one and day-twenty-one submissions look identical to them (source 3). Use the gap to fix your list and your signals.
January 29 is quietly dangerous. Missing NRMP standard registration adds late fees and stress. Register in September and forget about it.
March 3 is the real cliff. An uncertified rank order list at 9 p.m. ET means you are not in the Match, no matter how many interviews you collected.
For IMGs
ECFMG says MSPEs and medical school transcripts should be uploaded no later than September 11 so they are transmitted to programs when review opens September 23 (source 3).
